Miss Sharon has taught dance for over 15 years. She has studied dance at Temple University, Queens College, Peridance Center in NYC, The Rock School of Ballet and many other various studios in both New York and Pennsylvania. She has attended numerous workshops and teacher conferences including the Dance Teacher conference in NYC, workshops with Rhee Gold and Dance Teachers of America. She was a company member of Acclamation Dance Ensemble at Messiah College and At Marah Dance Company outside of Philadelphia.
Miss Sharon has performed throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, and has studied ballet, modern, hip hop, African, tap, lyrical and liturgical dance. She was the Director and Teacher of the Children and Youth Dance program at the Philadelphia Area YMCA for several years before opening her own dance studio in Perkiomenville, PA. She has also coached cheerleading in the Three Village School District for 5 years and an All-Star Cheer Program. Miss Sharon has a BA in Family Studies with additional credits in dance and early childhood education. She resides in Port Jefferson with her three wonderful children and husband. Kristen Calendrille Tap Instructor Kristen Calendrille has been dancing since childhood. At the University of Richmond in Virginia, she was a member and a co-captain of The University Dancers on campus. During her senior she began teaching tap dance classes therefore beginning her teaching career. She then attended Florida State University to earn her Masters of Fine Arts in dance, studying ballet but specializing in modern, taking Martha Graham classes and a myriad of others. She continued teaching tap dance classes while attending FSU and produced her first concert, choreographing modern, jazz as well as tap pieces for her show. Kristen's career continued in New York City, where she taught tap, modern and jazz dance classes and performed for three years with "Manhattan Tap," a rhythm tap company based in NYC. With Manhattan Tap Kristen performed in the tri-state area as well as around the country. Kristen has attended numerous dance masters classes through the years. The two most memorable dance festivals for her were in Boston and Portland, Oregon. They were each week long Tap Festivals featuring classes from the top rhythm tap masters from around the world, such as Honi Coles, Harold Nicholas, Steve Condos, "Buster" Brown, Gregory Hines, and Savion Glover. Kristen is blessed with a loving husband and three beautiful children. She is excited to be working with Sharon Philbrick at Shine Dance Studios and looks forward to this year of dancing together.

Brittany Blume,  Ballet and Preschool Instructor Brittany began her training with Ballet Omaha where she went on to perform in the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago’s, The Nutcracker, and the Dayton Ohio Ballet’s, The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet. As her training continued, Brittany moved on to study with Patsy Swazye in Simi Valley, California. While studying with Patsy, Brittany was privileged to be instructed and to attend classes with many famous celebrities. As Brittany’s career progressed, she began training with Kenneth von Heidecke at his school of The Chicago Festival Ballet in Illinois. While there, Brittany was a featured soloist in many productions of The Nutcracker and Cinderella. Under the instruction of Mr. Von Heidecke, Brittany was selected to dance with the Moscow Ballet in their performance of The Sleeping Beauty in Chicago. Ms. Blume went on to receive her B.F.A. with an emphasis in Dance at Northern Illinois University in December 2010 and also received credits in childhood education and development, as well as French and Spanish. While studying dance at Northern, she was honored to learn from prestigious instructors such as Randall Newsom, Judith Chitwood, Paula Frasz, Karen Williamson, Autumn Eckman, Steven Norman, and many guest artists from dance companies around the globe. Her areas of study in dance include Classical Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre. While at Northern Illinois University, Brittany had been chosen to perform as a featured dancer in productions such as Tarantella, Giselle, Paquita, Raymonda, Carmina Burana, How Slow the Wind, and The Nutcracker. She was also featured in a ten page article in “Invironments” magazine for her role as Snow Queen in The Nutcracker. In the summer of 2010 Brittany was selected to take part in Alvin Ailey’s summer workshop and was chosen to perform in a piece choreographed by Cornelius Carter. During her career at Northern Illinois University, Brittany was grateful to receive the Renee LeBeau Scholarship. She has been thrilled to be the personal assistant to Maria Tallchief, Prima Ballerina Assoluta, in 2007; that same year, she was voted Vice-President of Northern Illinois University’s Northern Dance Theatre. Ms. Blume was promoted to President of Northern Dance Theatre in 2008 and continued to serve as President for the rest of her college career. From 2009 to 2010 she directed the production “Art for Life” at Northern, which over the years, helped to raise thousands of dollars for the AIDS foundation. In 2000, Brittany’s teaching career began. She was selected to begin her teaching experience for Kenneth von Heidecke’s School of The Chicago Festival Ballet. Since that time, she has been teaching and choreographing for students of all ages, in both large classes and private lessons, all over the country. Brittany is extremely excited to continue her teaching career at Shine Dance Studios and looks forward to dancing with everyone soon!

Amy Loughlin Preschool, Combo Teacher Amy is originally from Melbourne Florida. At the age of 10 she started studying ballet, tap and jazz at the Dance Zone Studio. She continued studying for over 15 years, eventually accepting a position as instructor and chorographer for all their children’s classes. Amy was also the Captain of the prestigious Melbourne Central Catholic Stingers a precision high kick dance team. Their tough standards and devotion to excellence brought them to state and nationals yearly. She also attended summer dance camps sponsored by the NCAA (National Cheerleaders Association) at Rollins College in Orlando where she was chosen as a soloist and invited to perform in the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. Later Amy joined the "Serenade Dance Company" and for 7 years performed in various ballets including the nutcracker, and Swan Lake. During this time she started her own company called Dance with Amy where she instructed ballet classes and choreographed performances at private elementary schools in Florida.
Amy then went onto study liberal arts and dance at Brevard College and also attended summer classes at Steps in New York City. She currently resides in Stony Brook with her husband Roy and two children Emma and Liam. She looks forwards to being part of the Shine dance studio family and to a fabulous year of dance. ..........................................................................................................................................
